Oh Happy Day!

It's been almost a week since I've blogged.  This week has been crazy to say the least.

First, we had D's knee injury. He seems to be healing nicely.  Thanks so much for all your kind words and good thoughts. The first day after the injury I came downstairs in the morning to see this.  (awful phone picture)  I love all the babies around him.

Last night, we had a scare with my precious doggy.  He takes a pill every morning and night for his thyroid.  D takes a pill every night also.  So at 9:00 each night D gets Harley his pill and takes his own.  Last night, he gave Harley the pill and then looked on the counter and the pill was still there.  So he thinks he gave Harley his own pill rather than the thyroid pill.  NOT GOOD!  I went into a huge panic and dialed 911 instead of 411 when I was trying to get ahold of the animal emergency clinic.  I was shaking and freaking out.  I finally got the call through and they said to give him Hydrogen Peroxide to induce vomiting.  Luckily it worked on the first try.  Only about 5 - 7 minutes had passed so the vet said it should be fine.  We didn't find the pill, but did find the pink thyroid pill.  ????  So now, we are super confused and are watching him for side effects.  He seems ok so far.  THANK GOD!

Today was the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!  Yippee!  I made it.  I still have to go back tomorrow to check out, and Tuesday to move from my current classroom to my new classroom, but as far as I'm concerned I am DONE!  I will miss the kids.  They went through a lot with me being gone for most of the year.  Some of them matured a lot and became real sweethearts.  I won't miss getting up at 5:20 every morning.  I'm so thankful for treats on early mornings and long days.

It's also been super hot which makes me feel like not cooking at all.  This salad was delicious on a hot night.  Cool, tasty, and refreshing.  Do you like summer salads?  They are some of my faves!

Hopefully now that school is out for summer I will get back into the swing of blogging and doing my rounds.  I've missed you all.

POP!

Happy Saturday!

Things continue to be a bit crazy here.  Yesterday, while D was playing soccer at P.E. with his students, he heard a POP in his knee and was brought to the ground.  Needless to say, we ended up at Urgent Care and then at the clinic the school district sent him to.  He is in much pain and the doctor P.A. was not much help.  He twisted and moved it and put D in even more pain, just to say that he'll have to wait until Monday for xrays and has to stay down all weekend.  Surgery might be in the future as it could be a torn ACL or something similar.  In light of my nursing duties, I thought this would be a good day to do this since I'm too busy for a proper post.

Just Stuff

Life is busy right now.

It's amazing how tired working makes me.  I've been sleeping like a baby when usually I would wake up 10 times a night at least.  It's wonderful.  I have so many things on my mind and it's nice to just shut it off for awhile.  I think this weekend I shall shut it off with a Mojito.

Have you read these books yet?  I had to see what all the hype was about, so I got the first one and am loving it.  Yeah, the writing isn't perfect, but I love the story.  Weird as it is, it definitely has pulled me in.  I'm almost done with the first and the second arrived today.  Perfect timing.  The cat wasn't supposed to be in the picture, but he wouldn't leave me alone.  He's not supposed to be on the table either, but that doesn't stop him.

We have been doing a lot of ordering in and eating out.  Tonight was Panera at home before Laurel's band concert.  This salad is my favorite.  I ate the bread too.  Bad me!

That's it for now.  Have to run!  I hope everyone is having a great week.  Tomorrow's Friday!  Yipppeee!!!!

Mother's Day

Hey there!

It's Bachelorette Monday!!!  I can't wait until 9:30.  Do you think Emily will find love?  Do you even care?  ;)  I don't know if she will, but it sure is fun watching the guys act like fools.  She sure is gorgeous too.

Like many others, this weekend we celebrated Mother's Day.

On Saturday, we met D's parents at Thornton Winery in Temecula.  It's a beautiful place and my food was delicious.  I had a Caesar Salad with Salmon on top.  It was dellllicious.  I was excited that they offered gluten free options on their menu also.  Unfortunately, the service was awful.  We did not get spoken to at our table for a good 20 minutes, and when we did it was only because D's mom flagged someone down.  The bad service continued throughout the meal.  We enjoyed good company though, so it was definitely worth it.

The following day D and I went to church and then met my parents at my grandma's for lunch.  It was a nice relaxed meal and it was nice to just kind of sit around and catch up.

I hope all you mommies out there had a lovely day and were pampered as you should be.

It's O.K.!

Hola!!  How's it going peeps?  Good here!  Happy that tomorrow is FRIDAY...almost happy enough to sing the Friday Song.  But I won't.  I promise.  Maybe.

Today I am linking up with Neely for It's OK Thursday.  Join in!  It's fun.  :)

Its Ok Thursdays

It's O.K. that...

I was in my jammies at 6:00 tonight.  Comfy and clean after a long, hard day at work.  Work!

I've been eating Pop Tarts like they're going out of style.  Cherry and Brown Sugar are tasttttty!

I am going to post some random pics of my husband and I that we took this weekend.  I feel kinda vain, but I just like the pics.

I ordered 50 Shades of Gray on amazon prime last night and am sooooo excited to get it.  I've gotta see what all this hype is about.  Trend follower...I guess.

I haven't exercised since the beginning of my trip back east.  UGH!  That's actually not o.k.  Bad!

I slept through the night last night for the first time in at least a year.  Yes!  This one is definitely O.K.

I saw this lovely crate shelf at the cutest little vintage store in Claremont and now must make one for my house.  Isn't it Pinteresty?!

My plans for tonight involve laying on the couch with some iced tea, American Idol, my laptop and my fur babies.  Old lady life, by choice!

With that, I am off!  As for tomorrow, I hope everyone has a splendid Friday.  Enjoy!

Welcome Back Target Tuesday!

I've been so busy lately that I've missed my beloved friend, Target.  I'm a little more grounded now though, so I shall "window" shop a little.  Of course I'm linking up with Nicole at Fabulous But Evil.

My husband and I were walking through Target yesterday and I saw these.  I know for a fact that I need them.  I don't think that he agrees.

I've also decided that I need one of these.  I don't drink coffee, but maybe 5 times a year, however I hear you can buy tea pods and hot chocolate pods.  So worth it!

I'm pretty sure that I need this for summer.  The warmer weather makes me need to SHOP!

I'm loving the new Shops at Target.  This is from The Webster.  I wish I could pull it off, but I'm not so sure.  Probably better on someone taller.

I think I'm seeing a green trend.  Weird.

In other news, I've been back at work for 5 days now with kids and I'm getting a sore throat already.  My immunity must have gone down while I was gone.  Today two of my kids left with fevers and one returned from the health office wearing a mask.  This can't be good.
